We received IRS Notice CP30A that they were increasing our 2023 refund saying they corrected our calculation for estimated tax penalty. They said we would be be receiving this refund in 4 to 6 weeks. That never happened. Is there a place to enter this on our 2024 taxes?

    It depends:

If you did not get any tax forms for the missing refund, you can continue filing your return.

If you received a 1099-INT for interest paid on your refund and you never received the refund:

    • You will need to enter the 1099 and then subtract it back off - or have the IRS issue a corrected form of zero.

Contact the IRS. Here is the number to the refund returned department - 800-829-0582. Maybe they can help or get you to the right group.

No, and there is no reason to enter it on your 2024 return.   It will have no effect on your 2024 refund or tax due.  This is 2025 and you have not yet received the refund.   If the IRS pays the additional refund with interest then you may need to enter it on a 2025 return--next year.
