Is an ESP the same as a 401? Where as you'll have to take RMD

    It depends what type of retirement plan it is- the Employee Savings Plan can be set up many different ways.  It usually is a qualified plan (like a 401) but you have to contact the plan administrator or look through your documents to be sure.
