Is auto renewal of turbotax a legitimate offer ?

i was about to sign up for auto renewal of Turbotax Premier (getting ready for tax season 2024). it seems like a great idea to save $45 for audit defense and $5 towards state e- filing

but Im wondering if it is kind of a bait and switch offer ?

for 2023 I paid $70 for Premier , just ordering it online

but the website for auto renewal shows $105!

are they charging me a $35 premium to go on auto renewal?

Also you may be looking at the prices for 2023. We don’t know what the price will be for 2024 yet. 2024 won’t come out until early or mid November. They are still selling 2023 on the main page. And I see Premier is $115.

You do know that you can purchase TurboTax desktop software from various other retailers like Costco, Walmart, Sam's, Amazon, Best Buy....etc. etc. often at lower prices than the Intuit price.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return. You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return. The state e-file fee is $20 and increases to $25 in March.

yes, it does seem to be branded the 'advantage plan'.... but is it really an advantage 🙂

but the price i paid for PREMIER was $70 on amazon and advantage plan is showing $105. i had assumed buying on intuit website would be the same price as amazon but you telling me that may not be the case.

its a bit scammy (in my opinion) if intuit is selling the advantage plan s/w at a higher price than what intuit is selling the non advantage plan s/w
