Is form 8332 the form needed to claim a qualifying child such as a niece or nephew?

If this is not the correct form to claim a qualifying relative can you please tell me know which form is needed?

No, the form 8332 is only used if the custodial parent is releasing the claim to the noncustodial parent.  There is no form required for a qualifying relative.  If more than one person claims someone, the IRS will contact the taxpayer and ask for verification of qualification- like records to show the dependent lived with you, how mush support was provided etc.
