Solved

Is it better to file as divorced or single? I have been divorced for many years. I am divorced and have no minor children.

Yes, you should file as Single.

If you aren't legally married on December 31 and you have no dependents, Single is your only choice. "Divorced" isn't a filing status.

Divorced is not a filing status for a tax return.  If you do not have any dependents then you file Single.

You select Single.  Divorced is not a Filing Status.

Doesn't matter.  They are the same thing.  They are both SINGLE.  Divorced is not a filing status.
