Is it possible to have higher medicare wages than wages in box 1? This W2 only had my last incoming before retiring.

Yes it is common to have boxes 3 and 5 higher than box 1 Wages.
some of the reasons for this could be retirement contributions or pretax medical premiums.
Box 1 is what you pay tax on, so this is a good thing to have happen.
