Question

Is it supposed to kick me out of the Assets section? It always shows that it's "Not started".

I enter that all my assets are less than 2500.  Is it then supposed to kick me back to the Expenses summary area?

Yes, because when you say each purchase is less than $2,500 you are expected to just record the purchases  as expenses for your business. If you want them to be tracked assets, answer No and you can enter the assets after that.
