I have issued 1099 NEC for pulpit supply individuals who we paid over $600.  I included both income and reimbursed mileage in total reported Nonemployee Compensation.  I was told to not include mileage in this number and only report income.  Research that I have done since states for me to report the full amount (income plus mileage) for compensation and the recipients report mileage in their tax returns according to their individual situations.  Do I report mileage in Nonemployee Compensation or not?

Yes, you will report reimbursed mileage on the 1099-NEC for your independent contractors.  They are considered self-employed so they can then turn and deduct their vehicle expenses or mileage as well.
