Hi Experts

I share my apartment with a roommate and be pays a part of the rent($1300) out if $2800 total rent.I pay the check to the leasing office of the community.

Is the rent share considered taxable for me.

If could be if you want it to. But based on the information provided all you have is a cost sharing arraignment. You don't "own" what your roommate is paying for. So I wouldn't go creating more paperwork for yourself unnecessarily.
