Is there a Credit or Deduction for Radon Mitigation system installation?

Learning you have high levels of Radon in your home is not good and a cause for cancer.  There is a fairly straightforward system that can be installed in the home to correct this.    For a tax return, is there a deduction somewhere to assist with the cost of the Radon Mitigation system installation?   Wonder if anyone knows about this.

Thank you.

A Radon Mitigation System is not deductible on a federal tax return.

The radon mitigation system is an improvement to the home. You can add the cost of the system to your basis when you sell the home. The increase in the basis might reduce the taxable gain on the sale. But as DoninGA said, there is no credit or deduction on your current tax return for the year that you purchase or install the system.
