I see an answer that says e-file of state return is included with the fee when using Turbo TAx online - but no mention if the e-file fee is included for federal.

The fee that TurboTax charges is for tax preparation, not e-filing.  E-filing is automatically included for Federal and State returns when you either, qualify for TurboTax Free Edition, or pay to prepare your Federal and State returns using a TurboTax Online product, such as Self-Employed.

I see you are in the highest version, the Self Employed Live.  Did you mean to add the Live feature?  It has a much higher cost.  And state is a separate 44.99 fee.
