Is there a minimum amount to issue a 1099-Misc for my contractor?

Someone once told me that you don't have to issue a 1099-Misc, if your contractor worked for under $600 per year. Mine only did work worth $194.94. Do I have to issue a 1099-Misc for this?

You are not required to for amounts under $600. Do note that the contractor still must report all income on their return regardless of receipt of a 1099. You do NOT have to submit 1099's to corporations.
