Is there a place to enter 2023 tax overpayment? I did not file my taxes through turbotax last year. Under estimated taxes it says don't enter overpayments in that section

    Method 1

in the search/jump to box type without quotes:

    tax payment

    a new window will open

double click on the line that says tax payment worksheet

it should open and you'll see a line to enter the prior year's overpayment applied to 2024

    Method 2

itis under "deductions and credits" >"estimates and other taxes paid" > "other income taxes" click on the link. then you'll see a section that says "2023 refund (extremely poor choice of words) overpayment applies to 2024"

    click on the proper link.

"refund" should really be "overpayment"  Even Einstein would be confused.

A 2023 federal tax refund is not entered on a 2024 federal tax return.
