Question

Is there a way to physically see on my tax forms if I claimed my kids? Also, if my s.o is not claiming the kids should he even enter their info at all?

We filed separately and went through all the turbo tax questions but now I am second guessing that we may have both accidentally claimed the kids. 1040 shows dependents only on mine. Both tax returns show EIC.

If you are a non-married couple who live together then only one of you can claim the child(ren) and the one not claiming the child does not enter anything at all on their tax return about the child.

And whose children are they?   Are they your children or are both of you the bio parents?

If you both entered the children on your returns one of your returns will be rejected.  The children cannot be claimed by both of you.
