Question

Is there a way to speak directly to a tech support rep? Not a CPA, I have an issue with the software specifically.

I already have a case open, just wanting to be able to express exactly what the issue is rather than them reading through the notes. I don't have a lot of faith in how it has been documented by the Live reps...

Yes I too have found a software issue in relation to Form 1116. The help desk folks do not seem to have a way to contact technical support. I have spent over an hour with the first lady who was useless, almost 3 hours with the next lady Connie who was helpful, submitted a diagnostic tax form, for me to get an email saying they don't have enough information, now I am at almost another hour with Tim.

I know what lines the errors are on, a direct connection to them might fix it quickly, you are wasting my time and that of your phone people.

When you do get connected to a rep ask them to help you solve the issue while on the phone.  Some are super lazy and will just send you a ton of links to read through instead of solving your issue.  Let them know you need help, not something to read to help you fall asleep at night.

Line 34 (tax overpayment) on my 2021 tax return in blank, however, line 36 shows a value of $190. How can the $190 be deleted as it is rolling forward to our 2022 return and applied as an estimate tax payment.

Where did the $190 on your return come from?  If you had no refund on your 2021 return I'm not sure where the amount came from.

If you go to the estimated payments section of the deductions and credits section of TurboTax you should be able to adjust the amount carried forward from your prior year return and change it to zero.

Not sure what your question is.

You can start another return in TurboTax Online by:
Logging out if you are in your account
Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return
Create your account screen
Set up a new login for the second return
Start working on the new return

If you did your tax return somewhere else you can try to clear it or abandon it.
