Is there any particular reason that I only received 50% of my tax return when I have zero federal debt?

I have not been able to track my refund at all since I filed two months ago. Then I just received a direct deposit of almost half of what I was supposed to get in a refund. I have zero federal debt.

The IRS changed your tax return. You will be receiving a letter in the mail from the IRS explaining the changes they made to the tax return which resulted in the lower tax refund. If you agree with the changes then there is nothing further you need to do. If you disagree, the letter will have a procedure for you to use to dispute the IRS changes.
