Yes, the TurboTax online editions are free for active military enlisted personnel.  The Live online editions are NOT free.

In the My Info section of the program you need to indicate that you are active military.  You must enter a Military W-2 in the Wages & Income section and after completing the W-2 on the screen labeled Let's check for uncommon situations you will need to check the box Active military duty

I have indicated in My Info that my husband is currently on active duty. I have his military W-2 and it is entered correctly. The active duty box is checked under Let's check for some other situations, see below:

Were you a member or former member of the US Armed Forces (active, reserve, or National Guard) in 2024?
    Yes - box is checked
    No
What was your military status as of December 31, 2024?
Active duty military box is checked
I entered the military in 2024.
I left the military in 2024.
I was in the military all year. - bullet is checked

After the W-2 is entered, the page with Let's check for uncommon situations opens up, see below:

These don't apply to most taxpayers, but we still have to ask if any are related to your work with ***
Nonstandard W-2 (handwritten, modified, or altered)
W-2 was corrected by my employer (Form W-2c)
Didn't get a W2 or received an incorrect W2 (manually calculate my earnings)
     Unreported tips
     Paid family leave
Nonqualified pension plan not on my W-2
Nontaxable Medicaid waiver payments that qualify as difficulty of care payments
     Worked outside the U.S.
     Religious employment
Inmate or lived in a halfway house
Employed by a foreign government or international organization
None of these apply to me

I'm still being asked to pay for my return....
