It is saying my sons soc number is invalid . The number I provided is his soc number. What do I do?

If your return is being rejected for your son's SSN being incorrect, and you have verified that it is correct then you should file a paper return.  Generally, in these situations the IRS has an issue validating social security numbers for e-filing but can process the same identical return by paper without any issues.

Is this for a MICHIGAN tax form...for the Heating Credit?

 

For that particular error, that has nothing to do with what you entered...that would be a software error...supposedly to be fixed by the end of the week (but no promises).
