Question

It says I filed my taxes, but I didn't because I didn't have 2017 AGI. I have paid the money I owe through the IRS. I want to file an extension but it won't let me.

I printed it out and was going to mail but couldn't get to a post office on time.  Help. How can I still file an extension.  Been on hold for over an hour.

If you paid the IRS online at IRS.gov, you don't need to file an extension if you indicated you were making an extension payment.  When you make such a payment, the IRS considers that as filing an extension.
