It won't let me add box 1 "Rents" and box 7 "non employee compensation" together. Do I just report box 7?

If your form 1099-MISC has entries in both box 1 and box 7, you have to enter it as if you had 2 forms 1099-MISC, one for box 1 and the other for box 7. This is necessary as TurboTax has different interview questions for each type of income.
