Why is ItsDeductible being discontinued? People really depend on it and you're going to dump everyone October 2022?? Please don't do this, please keep ItsDeductible going.

Hi all,

As some of you may have heard, ItsDeductible will be staying!

We heard your valuable feedback and we are happy to announce that we have revised our decision and will continue to support ItsDeductible next year.  Customers' accounts and the data in them will continue to be available without interruption.  You could take a look at our updated article here

Thank you,

I've been using TT and ItsDeductible since at least 2006. One of the reasons TT is rated well as being easy to use was due to ItsDeductible. Now that it's no longer supported, TT just lost an important part of its useability. If someone finds an alternative to either TT or ItsDeductible, please post!

Read through this thread. You will find two other products mentioned; Donation Assistant and DeductionPro.

Can you please add something like itsdeductible in mint or just no stop itsdeductible!!!

The reason people were not using it in the past two years was because places were not taking donations because of Covid.  Not they are open and we really need this website/app!

No one who has authority or responsibility for the product is reading this board, @Kmora401.

You can send an email or write a letter, though.

I want to add my voice to thanking TT for continuing ItsDeductible support for 2022 taxes.

I love the product and was super bummed about it getting discontinued. Didn't even think to voice my opinion and hope that TT would change their decision. Guess I'll be sure to voice my opinion in the future when they mention discontinuing it.

Just got an email, the Intuit/TT has seen the error of its ways and is not dumping Its Deductible. At least for this year.  I had not bothered to protest the decision as I figured it was useless, but since other's actions actually had an impact, I'm going to weigh in and say thank you to those that voiced their opinion.  This is certainly a tool that I use every year and I am happy that Intuit changed their position.

Wonderful News!! Thanks for revisiting the decision to suspend ItsDeductible!! As I suspected, the outpouring of support on this forum has demonstrated that ItsDeductible is valuable to a multitude of customers who have used TurboTax.

They decided to keep it

Note ... it is ONLY  a stay of execution for one more tax year to give you more time to find something else.

Now is the time to petition Intuit to keep the program either as is or in a "for fee" version.  I sent an email to:  [email address removed]  (use com not con).

Thanks to the Intuit CEO and staff for the change in their decision to discontinue Itsdeductible.  Thanks to all of you who joined me in expressing our support for Itsdeductible.  Hopefully, to keep us with TurboTax for many years to come, Intuit will either keep Itsdeductible beyond this tax year or create a compatible platform with the same capabilities and convenience in importing the values to our annual 1040 tax submissions.

Note ... it is ONLY  a stay of execution for one more tax year to give you more time to find something else. It is not a permanent reinstatement.

Unfortunately, TT only reinstated ItsDeductible for the 2022 Tax Year through October 15, 2023 (see below link from ItsDeductible) .  After that, they will discontinue it again.  If this many people rely on ItsDeductible and will switch tax programs, all the Income TT loses will be much higher than the cost of keeping ItsDeductible going!

How do I export my data from ItsDeductible?

Important: Intuit has decided not to discontinue ItsDeductible and will continue to support the tool through tax year 2022 (including preparation of 2022 returns until October 15, 2023). Your account and data will continue to be available without interruption. If you are an ItsDeductible user, you should have received a notification of this change on or about July 5, 2022.

ur ItsDeductible data.

  1. Sign in to your ItsDeductible account here
  2. Select the tax year you want to save
  3. Select View Summaries
  4. Select PDF next to the data you want to save
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 for all other tax years you’d like to save

We recommend keeping all tax return data for the last three years for your tax records.

My kudos to whomever in Intuit made the decision to reinstste It's Deductible, even if only for one year.  Now I can continue its use for my 202return.  All I have to do is enter those contributions I made during the inactive time, which I had recorded on an Excel spreadsheet.

Like many others, if the issue is It's Deductible not paying for itself, I, like many others, would be happy to pay an extra fee for its continuation.  Either that or make it an integral part of TT and amortize its costs over a much wider population.  it might even convince many of us to stay with TT rather than switch to H&R Block or Tax Act.  It might even bring in some NEW TT users...

@Intuit -

I get it - your new business strategy is Mint, and ItsDeductible would need too much $$ investment to keep it going at the quality & security level you desire for an Intuit product.  Would it be possible to modify your current business model and charge $20/tax year for those of us who love the product, still itemize deductions, and donate a lot of items starting w/ 2023 forward? That should give it enough to keep it going until you achieve full functional equivalency in Mint.

Once you have full functional equivalency in Mint, then it would be time to consider shutting down ItsDeductibleOnline, but doing so beforehand is premature.

Thanks for listening!

Though it doesn't upload, the CHARITYDEDUCTIONS website is an option. EZ to manually fill in a few fields but at least they have values and let you build lists.

So very happy that Itsdeductible is being continued.  THANKS Intuit and Community!

I believe that you saw the old message continuing ID for 2022.  I can find nothing on the site that indicates that Intuit is planning to continue ID in 2023.

If they were planning to continue ID I'm sure that they would make a grand, public announcement.

On the other hand, is there anything on the site indicating Intuit is not planning to continue ID for 2023?
