Report the PTE Tax Paid by the partnership as follows:

    1. During the K-1 interview, enter for Box 13 Code W as "PTE Tax Paid."
    2. Go to Deductions and Credits >> Estimates and Other Taxes Paid >> Estimates
    3. Click Start/Update, then Start beside State estimated taxes for 2022
    4. Enter the amount paid and choose California from the drop-down menu.
    5. Continue on to the Deductions & Credits summary page.
    6. Now go to State Taxes and follow the prompts to Credits and taxes
    7. Click Start/Update and confirm the estimated tax payment appears at the top of the page.

This process will apply the PTE payment against your California state income taxes due.

Thank you for the response.  I dont think I was clear.  Let me try again.

I received a K1.  In that K1 i was referred to STMT on box 13, code W.  The detail for that code under STMT said:  the total to schedule k-1, box 13, code w was $206, broken down as California PTA Tax Paid 2022 of $294 + a California PTE Tax Refund 2022 of -88.

When I go through the Personal Income process and enter my K1, i then get to Enter Box 13 Info.  I select Code W and enter 206.  Then, the subsequent screen asks me to enter Code W Detail.  What do I select and enter on that screen please?  Is there anything further I need to do after I complete the Enter Code W Detail?  Thank you

After you enter the amount for Box 13 Code W, the next page "Enter Code W Detail" presents several options, none of which is CA tax paid. Instead, check the box for "I have another description item," then enter the two tax items listed on the K-1 statement. Enter the refund as a negative number, so the total of the two lines is the same as the amount you entered on the previous page.
