Question

Last two years you pulled in my information from my Fidelity investments brokerage account. Can you do it this year?

Yes you may import your brokerage statement (1099-B) into Turbo Tax if your bank or brokerage is a Turbo Tax Import Partner

To import a brokerage statement (1099-B) into Turbo Tax:

  • Continue working on your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
  • Click Tax Tools (lower left of your screen).
  • Select Tools.
  • In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
  • In the I'm looking for: box, type 1099-b.
  • In the results box, highlight 1099-b, then click GO.
  • You'll land on the page that asks Did you sell any investments in 2016? Click Yes
  • Did you get a 1099-B or a brokerage statement for these sales? Click Yes.
  • Choose Your Bank or Brokerage. Start typing in the bank or brokerage name. If your brokerage is a TurboTax Import Partner, you'll see the name in the drop-down list. (Click the screenshot below for reference.) Select the name of your brokerage, then scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Continue
  • You'll be prompted to enter your account information to begin importing your brokerage statement.
