Leaving the US after becoming US resident on F1 visa?

After 5 years on F1 visa, I became a resident alien for tax purposes based on the substantial presence test. Is there anything I should do if I left the US back to my country at the end of 2020? I was considered resident alien and received the stimulus checks. I understand that I will need to report all my international income for 2020. As far as I have read, I do not need to file a sailing permit. Is there any problem if I got the stimulus checks and left the US afterwards?

Yes, you would report all your 2020 income on your tax return.  While preparing your return, report in the Federal Review section the amount of the Stimulus Payments you received.

Stimulus Payments are not considered taxable income, so there is no issue if you left the US at the end of 2020 after receiving them.

As for a sailing permit, that is not a tax issue, so we can't help you with that here, sorry.
