Question

Live in NJ, but work in PA except for the last week of december. How do I file taxes?

In 2021, I lived in New Jersey the whole time, but I got a job in the fall of 2021 in Pennsylvannia.  I lived in NJ while commuting to PA, but I got an apartment to rent in the last week of December in PA.

Do I file taxes in both NJ and PA? How do I do this? What do I need to look out for?

No, the last week of the year was a transition time for you. File a nonresident PA for the year and NJ resident. Next year, you can file PA for the year. Fill out the PA return first to create a credit for your NJ return.
