If you are looking for your Tax ID number or Employer Identification Number (EIN) in your personal return that you filed online with TurboTax Free, Deluxe, Premier or Self Employed, you should be able to find it on your printed paperwork on form Schedule C (if you had independent contractor income or a business). It is located on the upper right hand side of the screen (see screenshot below).

If you need to print a copy of last years return, see link below that explains how to do so:

An EIN (Employer Identification Number) that you applied for and was sent to you by the IRS.

If you have lost or misplaced the EIN that the IRS sent to you, go to this IRS website for assistance - https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/lost-or-misplaced-your-ein

Your Tax ID number is your Social Security number or if not eligible for a SS number then it is the ITIN issued by the IRS.

Looking for my employer ID number

April 19, 2020

The payment tracker on the IRS website doesn’t work for me. It says my info doesn’t match their records. I’ve lived at the same address every year I’ve ever filed taxes in my life and have always used TurboTax. I have no idea why it says my info doesn’t match their records but I was hoping to try to track my stimulus check with my tax ID number to see if that works

@jj509 Do you mean you do not know your own Social Security number?

You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.
