Los Angeles County CA, has an automatic extension for both 2024 Federal and State till October 15, 2025. If I mail in tax returns, do you recommend I write on Top of first page of Fed and State return, "Los Angeles County Automatic Extension".

If you are mailing them after April 15, you should add the note. If you are mailing them now, they aren't late and the extension has no value.

Does the extension apply to all Los Angeles County residents? In the IRS site it says, "affected individuals and businesses). IRS: California wildfire victims qualify for tax relief; various deadlines postponed to Oct. 15 | Internal Revenue Service

However, local news stations have stated that all Los Angeles County residents can defer filing to Oct.15, 2025. (But they didn't specify if it is without interest).
