Lost my state program after I re-installed TurboTax Premier 2024

My TurboTax Premier 2024 comes with a free state download. I downloaded it and was done with my state return. However, when I went back into TurboTax, it started automatic updates. The update installation got stuck and failed. It came back with an Microsoft Error code 1603. I ended up re-installing the TurboTax Premier 2024. Now I got a different problem. It says I need to pay $45 to get a state program as if it does not know that I have already downloaded once - the free copy. My PDF copy of my tax return clearly shows my state return. The state program was in my earlier version of TurboTax Premier 2024. I cannot continue on until I pay. Why ? What happened to my free state program ?

I managed to get the state program myself. The problem I had was that I re-installed the TurboTax Premier 2024 program when my existing return already had both federal and state data. After re-installation, the new TurboTax program noticed that I already had state information on my existing return and thought that I wanted to enter another state. So it asked me to pay $45 for a new state. Believing this was the issue, I started a brand new return, re-entered everything. When I was done with the Federal part and was ready to enter the state, realizing my newly installed TurboTax software did not have a state program, it automatically downloaded the state program for me.
