Can my wife and I file  married but separate and take  standard? I collect SSA I am disabled. My wife works and when I do my taxes it tell me that I should take the standard deduction. I did compare filing Married together, but she gets more filing separately. It looks like they tax my SSA. We don't have many deductions the standard is higher. Also can I file married together for state (Michigan)

Yes, you can both use the Standard Deduction when Married Filing Separately.

    From michigan.gov :

"If you and your spouse filed separate federal returns, you may file separate or joint Michigan returns."
