I got married last year in Sept. 2021.  My wife is India.  Can I file Married Jointly?  She does not have SSN.

You may be able to file married-joint.

Your spouse will need a social security number or an Individual taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to file a joint tax return. You can file a form W-7 to receive the ITIN number. You should file an extension on your 2021 tax return which will give you an additional six months to secure the ITIN.

    W-7 Taxpayer ITIN
