Me and my family quit our jobs and moved to another country in July 2021. We lived in the US for over 6 months and in the new country we moved to we did not work at all the rest of the year (July to December)
How do I fill the taxes? Do I still say I lived the entire year in the US, since I didn’t get any income outside of the country? How do I do that part?

thanks

You should enter your foreign address or a domestic address if you have one on your tax return. You will need to file a part-year resident tax return for the state you lived in, or a normal resident return for the state for the whole year if are away temporarily from your resident state.

You report all income received during the year on your federal and state tax return.

So I do need to fill the return saying I lived from

January to July in the US and the July to December in another country.
I guess my question is, how does that effect the return? If I didn’t get any income feom

ju ti December, would it matter if I stated that I lived the entire year in the US?

There isn't actually a question for the federal return that asks if you lived here the entire year or part of the year.  Your income is just your income so you will pay taxes on all of your income.

If you had no income for the last half of the year, it won't affect anything as you are just entering the income you had for federal.

For state, you would file a Part Year return and include the income you received while living in that state.  Yes, you should enter in the personal info section that you moved and use your current address or whatever address that you can receive mail from the IRS.
