Me and my wife got married in 2017 her father lives with us and it's disabled he is 67 years old but he receives a social security check can we claim him

Generally, you can claim your parent if:

  • they didn't have more than $4,200 in gross income (excluding nontaxable Social Security) and
  • you provided more than half of their support in 2019. Your parent doesn't have to live with you.
  • There are a few other specifics we'll ask you about as we go along in the TurboTax interview.
