Please review your Michigan tax formulation as after a given age citizens do not pay state taxes.

I called last year and it was fixed. But, now it still showing that seniors owe taxes.

Love the federal. Please update Michigan state calculations.

Thank you,

Income tax does not age out - it is based on taxable income. MI-1040 Instructions page 3 identities who must file a return. Page 3 also identifies deductions and exemptions for seniors born before 1946. You may be old enough to have your income reduced to a nontaxable level but that is not the case for all seniors. Please review your tax forms.

Note, MI also mentions you should file a state return if you filed a federal. It doesn't say required. To print or view  your forms:

    • In desktop, switch to Forms Mode.
    • For online:
      1. On the left side, select  Tax Tools
      2. Select Print center
      3. Select Print, save or preview this year's return
      4. If you have not paid, select pay now.
