Migration of code to new computer

I have seven (7) years of Tax Returns and Turbo Tax Code on my existing Windows Computer.  The computer's hard drive is failing and I must migrate to a new computer.  I know the IRS is unlikely to look back seven (7) years.  However, looking back three (3) years is quite likely.  If they require that I file an amended return for one of those years, I would like to use the Turbo Tax Code.

However, code for Tax Years: 2022, 2021 and 2019 will not load on my computer.  Turbo Tax Product Support could not help me resolve this issue.

HOW WELL DOES Intuit SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCTS?

It is unfortunately too late to amend for the 2019 tax year.

However, you can move your tax data to your new computer.  Click here for "How Do I Move My Data to a New Computer?"

Click here for "How to Amend My Federal Return for a Prior Year."

Make sure you have a PDF file created for ANY of those prior years, and include those when you to transfer to stuff the new computer.  Those PDF tax returns can be read by you without the actual desktop software.

2019 won't re-install...too late for that year.  (first year of using the installation code, if I recall)

But I just installed 2020, 2021, 2022 Premier on a New Windows 11 Computer in January, just before installing 2023.  So all those years should install, as long as you have the installation code.

Other stuff that "might" make a difference:

    1) IF a Windows computer, any waiting or partially-installed Windows updates are known to block installation of any year's TTX program...so if you are  using a Windows computer, make sure you check for any Windows updates, and reboot even if you don't find any before proceeding with anything else

    2)  A couple of us have had issues with actually running 2020, 2021,or sometimes 2022, if 2023 was already up and running at the same time, so make sure 2023 is shut down first.  And, I would suggest, that after installing each year, you shut down that year's software before installing the next year.   And if you do want to run a prior year at the same time as 2023, be sure to start up the prior year first....then 2023  (True though, might not really be an issue for everyone)

    3) When starting any particular year's installation .exe file, make sure you rt-click on the .exe file and select "Run as Administrator"   That seems to help some issues.

    Success!

I'm guessing the problem was addressed by your #1 Answer.

"1) IF a Windows computer, any waiting or partially-installed Windows updates are known to block installation of any year's TTX program...so if you are using a Windows computer, make sure you check for any Windows updates, and reboot even if you don't find any before proceeding with anything else."

"OneDrive" was most likely still trying to "Sync" my very large MS Outlook Data File between my old and new computers.

I did an "Uninstall" of "TurboTax 2022" and deleted it's folder after my first installation attempt failed.  With a clean slate, I was able to get "TurboTax 2022" installed, my state forms downloaded and TurboTax poised to file an amended 2022 Return should the IRS desire one.

Now I will take a crack at getting "TurboTax 2021" installed.  I don't anticipate a need for it but, "Just In Case".

    For the record:

The error code I got for the failed installation was,

'_mth.ecioheyap_lacol_tib23_rgnerepw' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'

OF COURSE, allow me one or two typos in what I provided above.  I could not do a direct copy of the error message.
