We filed our taxes and the next day started thinking about it and retirement box was not checked and it should have been. Reached out to husbands employer and the w2 they had was different then the one we received. Ours was missing retirement plan checked and Code D and amount. Then was missing box 14, WACARES, WAPFML, and ORPL. Everything else was the same. Do I need to amend our return? I’m getting different answers online. Thank you

You need to get a revised W-2 if you think the information on the one you received is wrong. Since you said your husband's employer had different information, I would follow up with the employer immediately. It's unfortunate you filed so early because you are definitely going to have to file an amended return. Is the correct name on the W-2 you received? I urge you not to be so quick to file early in the future. Be sure to compare your W-2 against the final paycheck of the year to be sure nothing is amiss. I had an investment company send me revisions to my Form 1099-B in late March one year, causing me to have to file an amended return. Very annoying. Best of luck.

If you took a deduction for an IRA contribution, that could change because one of you were covered under an employer's retirement plan. If you did not contribute to an IRA, that would not matter.

WACARES and WAPFML are state taxes. If you Itemized Deductions, that could add to the state tax you claim. If you used the Standard Deduction, that would not matter.

I'm not sure what the ORPL is, you might ask your employer. Sounds like some "PLan" you contributed to. If it isn't a tax, it would not matter.

They don’t know why I got one with the missing information. They aren’t saying the one they have now is a corrected one just that is what they have. So I now have both.

and I took no deduction from 401k. And the ORPL I believe is oregons Paid Leave you put into.
