Mortgage Sold - New Home Purchase

New Home Purchased have not owned one for many years. Mortgage Sold right away. Software has us filling out Form 8949. Seems to be asking for all the wrong questions. We did not refinance, sell, buy, or anything. This is the only error in our return, and the FORM seems wrong.

sure is wrong. that form is for the sale of a capital asset - has nothing to do with the fact your mortgage was sold. you likely answered a question incorrectly due to misunderstanding what was being asked. the form needs to be deleted unless you sold stocks, bonds etc.

Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
Select Delete next to form 8949 in the list and follow the instructions.

Hi There Mike

I turbotax delux and there is no entry that matches your instructions exactly. In the top left menu there is only "tools", under that nothing like you describe.
