Question

My 1098-E is in my maiden name . Any way to use it via Turbotax?

The name on the Form 1098-E and the name entered on the tax return do not have to match.  Only the Social Security numbers must be the same.

 

To enter student loan interest paid -

Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Deductions and Credits
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Scroll down to Education
On Student Loan Interest Paid (Form 1098-E), click the start or update button

 

Or enter student loan interest in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to student loan interest

Yes, if you Social Security number is correct on the form, you can include your 1098-E on your tax return.

 

It would be best the get your name changed on the account, but you don't have to wait for a corrected form to file your return.
