My 1099Q looks different than the information they are asking for on TurboTax, is it possible I am missing information?

Can you clarify what you are missing?  

 

Did you take a distribution from a 529 Plan to pay for tuition?

 

Here is the pdf of the IRS form:  1099Q  Does your form look like this one?

Thanks for getting back to me. After a bit more digging it looks like my 1099Q is correct, but I am missing info from a form CA 540(NR), but I never even recieved or heard of it. I'm not sure whether I even need this form or if I do where to get it from, and if I don't need it I can't figure out how to remove it. The only info that's missing as far as I can tell is item 4a then Column E, IRA Dist. Any advice one where to get this info would be great!

CA 540(NR) is a Non-Resident California Income Tax Return.

 

As a Non-Resident of California, you would be required to file  a return in that state if:  

 

  • Are required to file a federal return
  • Receive income from a source in California
  • Have income above a certain amount  (see this link - scroll down to filing requirements for your filing status:  California Non-Resident Filing Requirements

If you do need to file this form, you will need to Add California to TurboTax.

I have already added California to my documents and gone through the necessary steps via my W-2s where I earned income in this state. What I don't have is that specific form, 540(RN), the information being requested through TurboTax, or any idea where to get it. Do I need to get it from my employer or is this something I have to fill out myself?

The CA Form 540NR is the name of the CA return for non-residents. The computer automatically generates that for you.
