My 2018 state tax was rejected and the state has no record of my return?

That makes sense.  If your return was rejected the state did not get it.  You need to print it out and mail it now.

If it was rejected that mesns it was not filed, so of course the state has no record of it. E-filing is closed for 2018. Now you have to print, sign and mail it in.
