Question

My 5 year old did a small modeling job and got a 1099-NEC ($600) plus got a 1099-INT ($30). Do I need to file taxes for him?

    Yes. The 1099-NEC was for contract work so self employment tax should be paid on the amount over $400. The bank interest will be included on their return.
