My bank says I can use TurboTax for free; how do I make that known before I file?

Yes, "Enlisted Active Duty and Reserve" members can file free with TurboTax (see steps below). "Officer and Warrant Officer" pay grades are not eligible for the free file discount. 

1. In the "My Info" section
2. Edit your information
3. Yes, you are/were in the military
4. Active Duty or Reservist (select 2023 situation)
5. Enlisted (select pay grade)
6. Continue (answer as applicable)
7. Next in the Wages & Income section
8. Edit/add W2
9. Enter your military form W2
10. On the follow on page "Uncommon Situations"
11. Select "Active Military Pay"
12. Complete your return and the discount will be applied at the end
