Question

My company went into bankruptcy and won't give me a W-2. How do I get it?

Since you are unable to retrieve your W-2 from your employer, you can contact the IRS for assistance toll free at 1-800-829-1040. The IRS can help you with trying to obtain your W-2. 

 

Another option is to file a Form 4852 as a substitute W-2 Form along with your tax return, but you will have to print and mail your tax return.
