Question

My daughter is in college and received a 1099-misc for excess financial aid. Do I report this on my tax form?

You do not enter your daughter's 1099-MISC on your tax return.

If your daughter made more than $400 on form 1099-MISC, she would file her own tax return.

If you are claiming her as a dependent and she files her own tax return, be sure to check the box that says she can be claimed on someone else's return.  That is VERY important.  Double check that.
