Question

My daughter made 24,000 last year and I'm just putting information in to get an idea of what she would get and it says she has to pay is this correct?

You don't have her W2 yet.  You need all her info.  Or did she get paid as a 1099Misc or 1099NEC?

whether she needs to pay or get a refund is a function of how much federal tax was withheld on her paychecks (AND whether or not she already received her stimulus earlier this year)

Assuming single and a W2 employee, the standard deduction is $12,400, leaving $11,600 of taxable income.  The tax on that is $1,195. if she received a 1099, then there is a SE tax as well (the calculation is complex for a community board).
