My daughter only had medical insurnce for 11 months because she had a 30 day wait period on her new job.

Doing my daughter taxes, she 27 started a new job in 2018. had company medical coverage from Feb to Dec. Company required 90 days wait period before they would cover her.

She would not be subject to the penalty if she had it for 11 months. This would fall under the short gap penalty exemption when you answer ALL of the health insurance questions, TurboTax will automatically apply this penalty waiver.
