My daughter worked part time can I still claim her? And does she have to file taxes

    Yes, you still may be able to claim your daughter if she qualifies as your dependent even if she worked. In TurboTax, add her as a dependent. TurboTax will ask a series of questions to make sure you can claim her. There may be other tax benefits you can get when you claim a dependent. For all the dependent requirements:

     

    Your daughter may need to file a tax return. See  Do I need to  file a federal return this year?

     

    • If she doesn't meet the requirements to have to file a tax return, she may want to file if she's getting a refund.
