Since the IRS has rejected your federal return due to the taxpayer showing as deceased, you will need to change your return to print and mail. This is how to do that:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click Fix my return to open it.
  3. Select File on the left side.
  4. When you get to Here are your e-filing options, select Change to the right of your federal return.
  5. On the next screen select File by mail.
  6. Continue and follow the prompts to print your return.

Be sure to sign the return and attach the death certificate before mailing. The cover letter will have the mailing address in it.

I am very sorry for your loss.
