My girlfriend claimed me as dependent in 2020 because i didn't work, she received 2 stimulus checks BUT I received $1400 in my account too!! Do I send it back?

Could an old LLC cause this?

PS: I do have an LLC but.. I only made 750.00 dollars in Jan of 2020, after that... nothing. So I never bothered to file my taxes for 2020 and she said she gets extra 500.00 if I am dependent. Now I am worried.

For the third stimulus, adult dependents are eligible no matter their age.

This is different from the first and second stimulus for which only dependents under age 17 are eligible.

This is why your girlfriend received the stimulus for 2 people.

As for you, the IRS may have based your stimulus check on your 2019 tax return.

For the time being, the IRS has no guidance whether you should return your check.
