Solved

My grandson (age 15) received a 1099-MISC for being an umpire at Little League baseball games last summer. Does he have to file a 1040, or can he file a 1040EZ?

He must file a 1040. This type of income cannot be entered on a 1040EZ. There is a free version of TurboTax called the Freedom Edition that can be used for this type of income if the total income is $33,000 or less. He has to report his income on Schedule C, Form 1040.
