My husband passed away in 2024. He is the first person on the turbo tax account. Is there a way to change it so that I am the first person and he is the spouse?

No you cannot change the order of the taxpayers listed on your tax return in your TurboTax account.  The only way to do so would be to create a new online account with a new User ID.

However, since your spouse passed away in 2024 you can still file your 2024 tax return as Married Filing Jointly.

In the My Info section of the program, for your spouse's information you will need to check the box for the person has passed away and then enter the date of passing.

For tax year 2025, you will need to create a new account with a new User ID since you can no longer file as Married.
